Asiste Paco Rentería a Vietnam como embajador de la música

El artista representará al país en los actos del 200 aniversario del inicio de la Independencia y 100 del de la Revolución, por instrucciones del presidente Felipe Calderón.

Ciudad de México.- El guitarrista mexicano Paco Rentería, nombrado embajador de la música de este país, se presentará el próximo 14 de este mes en la Casa Ópera de Hanoi, con motivo del 35 aniversario del reestablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Vietnam y México.

Rentería forma parte de un elenco de artistas de 31 países en el Festival Bienal (Hue) que se realiza cada año en la Ciudad imperial.

El artista, quien por instrucciones del presidente Felipe Calderón representará al país en los actos del 200 aniversario del inicio de la Independencia y 100 del de la Revolución, es ampliamente conocido por fusionar el sonido gitano, flamenco, africano, con jazz oriental progresivo.

Nominado al Grammy Latino en el género de “new age”, por su álbum “Océano”, empezó a tocar la guitarra clásica a los siete años. Actualmente cuenta con más de 300 composiciones, entre las que se incluyen algunas bandas sonoras.

Por ejemplo, citan sus promotores, la música de “La leyenda del zorro” y “Desesperado”.

A lo largo de su trayectoria, el músico ha compartido el escenario con importantes artistas de la talla de Carlos Santana y el fallecido tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

THUA THIEN – HUE – Anyone feeling like basking in flaming Latin guitar melodies in Hue city this week, should Paco Renteria and his band inside the Royal Citadel.

The Mexican artists on Thursday night set the atmosphere around the stage west of Thai Hoa Palace aflame, when hundreds, locals and foreigners alike, moved down from their seats to sway and twist together in time to the music.

Flamenco guitarist Renteria, who was confered by Mexican president Felipe Calderin as the musical ambassador for Mexico to foreign countries, presented his own style called "freeplay".

The style uses the freedom of combining various instruments to create the highest levels of sensation and emotion in an audience.

The artists performed fascinating works like Mariachi, Piel de Mujer and Beunion Mora. Sudden-inspiration exchanges with a humorous percussionist, a hilarious trumpet, and a polished bassist driving the crowd.

"Very good" was all that a group of French tourists exclaimed about the show.

"They have given us great moments of music virtuosity," said 23-year-old spectator Tran Thuy Linh. "They are very friendly and easygoing off stage as well."

Renteria said he felt a beautiful connection with Hue people.

"I'm very happy to be here. Look at the audience, they gave us a raptious reception," he said. "Isn't it the most important thing for me?"

"Many thanks to the Hue Festival for providing me with the opportunity to play."

Renteria said he was composing a song about Viet Nam to demonstrate his love for the country.

People hoping to see the artists can catch them at their last performance in Hue Festival tonight, on the stage to the left of the Thai Hoa Palace.

Paco Renteria is considered the most successful guitarist in his country. He was granted a special honour medal, "The excellent Mexican guitarist of contemporary arts" by the Star Square Cultural Foundation.

This year he was responsible for promoting Mexican cultural events abroad to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the country's revolution and the 200th anniversary of its independence. — VNS

Festival Huế 2010: Quá dễ thương Paco Renteria!

Người nghe như bị Paco Renteria thôi miên bằng những âm thanh ma thuật từ chiếc đàn ghita. Tiếng đàn ngưng lại họ mới sực tỉnh, bước khỏi thế giới ma mị. Tiếng vỗ tay vang lên từ khán đài sân khấu phía đông điện Thái Hòa (tối 9-6) được hiểu như lời chào và cảm ơn nghệ sỹ ghita được sinh ra tại Jalisco, quê hương của rượu Tequila và Mariachi (Mexico).

Bắt đầu với nguyên bản là nhịp điệu flamenco gypsy, afrikans, dòng Jazz cổ điển và hiện đại, Paco Renteria đã sáng tạo một dòng nhạc La tinh đầy đam mê hòa quyện với chất ghita trong một giai điệu mới, phong cách mới, được gọi là “Free Play”.

Xuất hiện trước công chúng với sự thân thiện, Paco đã quyết rũ đám đông bằng những cái vẫy tay, những ánh mắt và nụ cười có lúc như dành riêng cho một người. Ông thuyết phục họ bằng kỹ năng biểu diễn.

Tiếng đàn của Paco có lúc như tiếng gào thét, có lúc như tiếng khóc than, nhưng có lúc còn nhẹ hơn cả lời thì thầm. Người nghe như được ông đưa đi trên đá, trên mây, và có lúc như được tắm mình giữa dòng nước mát ngọt ngào. Chiếc đàn ghita trong tay ông có lúc là nhạc cụ, nhưng có lúc là đạo cụ. Nó được xoay, lật, và có lúc là dựng thẳng để nghệ sỹ thu tay về chơi nhạc ở cung 12.

Làm bạn với ghita từ năm 7 tuổi, đến 14 tuổi, ông tốt nghiệp trường âm nhạc. Ở tuổi 22, Paco cùng các thần đồng ghita đã được biểu diễn tại buổi hòa nhạc Aranjuez với dàn nhạc Philarmonic của Guadalajara, một buổi hòa nhạc nổi tiếng bởi những khó khăn về kỹ thuật. Bên cạnh việc học âm nhạc chính thức, hiện ông đang giữ hai bằng đại học, Luật và Quản trị Kinh doanh.

Trên web cá nhân, Paco Renteria cho biết đã viết hơn 300 tác phẩm, bao gồm bốn bản hòa tấu cho guitar và dàn nhạc, năm bản nocturnals và 10 bản sonata, Trong hơn bảy năm, phong cách âm nhạc mới này đã được Paco Renteria thể hiện trong hơn 2.500 buổi biểu diễn, có chơi cho đại chúng, ở nước ngoài, truyền hình quốc gia, đại sứ, và hoàng tộc. Trang tin của trung tâm Festival Huế cho biết, nghệ sỹ Paco Renteria đã được Tổng thống Mexico Felipe Calderon phong là Đại sứ cho âm nhạc Mexico tại nước ngoài. Ông có trách nhiệm dẫn đầu các sự kiện văn hóa của Mexico trên toàn thế giới trong năm 2010- năm kỷ niệm 100 năm cách mạng Mexico và 200 năm Ngày độc lập Mexico.

Riêng tối qua, trước lúc kết thúc đêm diễn đầu tiên ở Festival Huế 2010 (dự kiến sẽ diễn ra trong ba tối 9, 10, 12- 6), ông đã ngồi lặng trên sâu khấu. Tưởng để làm gì, hóa ra ông đang đánh vần bốn chữ “tôi yêu các bạn” bằng tiếng Việt, rồi “xin được chơi thêm một bản” trước khi rời sân khấu với lá cờ Mehico.

Famous Mexican guitarist to visit Vietnam

Mexico’s renowned guitarist, Paco Renteria, will appear at the Hanoi Opera House on June 14 following a performance at the 2010 Hue Festival.

Renteria has created a kind of music called “Freeplay” which refers to freedom in coordinating different musical instruments to stir audiences’ emotions.
His guest appearance in Vietnam celebrates the 35^thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Mexico.

Highly popular award-winning artists and bands from seven countries will perform for the first time at the biennial Hue Festival in June.
Festival organizers said artists from a total of 27 countries including Vietnam will perform during the festival.

This year’s edition will welcome first-time participants from Cuba, Denmark, Haiti, Mexico, Norway, Poland, and Senegal.

Cuba will send the Los Tradiconales band which has won many national and international awards during their 58 years, while Denmark is going to bring one of their oldest bands, MI22, which gathers musicians from the famous Rhythmic Music Institute in Copenhagen.

The music band from Haiti will be conducted by Bélo, a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has won several awards including the Prix RFI Découvertes 2006.

Guitarist Paco Rentería will represent Mexico. Rentería is considered the most successful guitarist in the country’s history. President Felipe Calderón this year named him the music ambassador for Mexico.

Poland will send traditional art troupe Jedliniok, named after a dance from the Jedlina Zdrój region. The dance troupe has represented Poland at many international traditional art festivals.

New approach

The festival, which will last for nine days (June 5-13), will deploy a modern twist to traditional arts in presenting four main events: Dem hoang cung (Royal night); Le te Nam giao (Nam Giao offering ritual), Hanh trinh mo coi (The country’s revolutionary history) and Huyen thoai Song Huong (Legend of the Perfume River).

The events will be a combination of concerts, parades and lighting shows.

Le Quy Duong, events director for the festival, said that apart from preserving and presenting the traditional culture and arts of Hue Town, the programs will use hitherto unused art approaches to distinguish Vietnamese characters in an international cultural milieu.

Mexican guitarist to Free Play in Ha Noi

HA NOI — Mexico, the land of tequila and mariachi bands, has offered the world another gift in virtuoso guitar player Paco Renteria.
Renteria will perform for the first time in Viet Nam on June 14 at the Ha Noi Opera House in celebration of the bicentennial anniversary of Mexican Independence and the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Mexico.
The concert is also a gift from the Mexican Embassy to celebrate Ha Noi's 1,000th anniversary.
Renteria started playing guitar at the age of seven and graduated from music school by age 14.
The audience will enjoy explosive Latino passion combined with sensual guitar playing in a new style created by Renteria and appropriately named, Free Play.
With roots in gypsy flamenco, Afrikaans, oriental and progressive jazz rhythms, Free Play is a new sound and rhythm which takes the listener through various stages of sensuality and bliss.
Renteria will perform with eight instrumentalists to combine the sounds of his guitar with drums, violins, flutes and trumpets.
With the release of his new albumTalisman, Renteria has organised a 2010 World Tour. His musical journey will last until 2011, taking him to places across the globe such as Chile, Australia, France, the US and Viet Nam.
Last February, he was appointed Ambassador of Mexican Music by President Felipe Calderon.

Nghệ sĩ Paco Rentería đã được Tổng thống Mê-hi-cô Felipe Calderón phong là Đại sứ cho Âm nhạc Mê-hi-cô tại nước ngoài, người chịu trách nhiệm dẫn đầu các sự kiện văn hoá của Mê-hi-cô trên toàn thế giới trong năm 2010 - năm kỷ niệm 100 năm Cách mạng Mê-hi-cô và 200 năm Ngày Độc lập Mê-hi-cô. Thông qua Bộ Du lịch và Bộ Ngoại giao Mê-hi-cô nghệ sĩ Paco Rentería sẽ chính thức đại diện cho Mê-hi-cô tham gia biểu diễn tại Festival Huế 2010.

Paco Rentería được đánh giá là nghệ sĩ đàn guitar thành công nhất tại Mê-hi-cô. Ông tự sáng tác, sản xuất và biên tập những tác phẩm của mình, trong số đó phải kể đến nhạc cho bộ phim El Marichi (Điệu Mariachi) với sự tham gia của diễn viên Salma Hayek và Antonio Banderas và nhạc trong clip quảng cáo cho bộ phim La Leyenda del Zorro (Truyền thuyết về Zorro) do Antonio Banderas và Catherine Zeta-Jones thủ vai chính. Ngoài ra ông còn có rất nhiều tác phẩm âm nhạc khác đã làm hài lòng cả những thính giả khó tính nhất.

Ông sáng tạo ra thể loại âm nhạc của riêng mình với tên gọi là Freeplay, có nghĩa là sự tự do trong việc phối các loại nhạc cụ khác nhau nhằm mang tới khán thính giả những cung bậc cao nhất cả về cảm giác lẫn cảm xúc.

Những thành công đã đưa ông tới đỉnh cao với nhiều giải thưởng lớn. Báo giới trong nước cũng ủng hộ ông. Những nhân vật như Ricardo Rocha, Jacobo Zabludovsky, Joaquín López Dóriga, Carlos Loret de Mola, Abraham Zabludovsky, Jaime Almeida, Carlos Marín, Sergio Sarmiento đều thán phục tài năng của Paco Rentería và họ ca ngợi ông là “Nghệ sĩ đàn guitar thành công nhất mọi thời đại trong lịch sử Mê-hi-cô”.

Paco Rentería có vinh dự được nhận Giải thưởng Danh dự Đặc biệt dành cho “Nghệ sĩ đàn guitar tầm cỡ quốc tế người Mê-hi-cô của nền nghệ thuật đương đại ” do Quỹ Văn hoá Quảng trường Ngôi sao trao tặng. Ngoài ra ông còn nhận giải thưởng cho “Nhân vật tiêu biểu năm 2008” do Tổ chức Nhà xuất bản Mê-hi-cô và tổ chức Mặt trời Mê-hi-cô trao tặng. Sự hiện diện và những đóng góp của ông đối với chuyển thể âm nhạc trong lĩnh vực điện ảnh sẽ giúp ông giành giải thưởng “Đức Chúa bạc” do Hội Nhà báo Điện ảnh Mê-hi-cô trao tặng.

Paco Rentería vừa nhận được lời mời tới Las Vegas biểu diễn của nhà tổ chức sự kiện giải trí nổi tiếng thế giới Jack Wishna, người đã từng mời Celine Dion và Circus du Soleil. Thời gian sắp tới, nghệ sĩ guitar này cũng sẽ có mặt trong các show truyền hình quốc tế của những người dẫn chương trình nổi tiếng như Larry King và Lettterman.

Hiện tại, ông đang tiến hành các hoạt động quảng bá cho album “Paco Rentería en Concierto” bao gồm những CD và DVD thuộc thể loại unplugged và được thu trực tiếp của nhà sản xuất nổi tiếng Carlos Slim.

Trong năm 2009, ông có mặt trên các tờ tạp chí lớn như “Hola”, “GQ”, “Deep”, vv... và trên nhiều chương trình truyền hình.

CUERNAVACA. Con su particular estilo de ganarse al público y la presencia que lo caracteriza en el escenario, Paco Rentería llenó de ritmo y música el Teatro Ocampo al abrir la noche del viernes su gira internacional Talismán en Cuernavaca, misma que lo llevará por Asia, Europa y Latinoamérica, además de varias plazas a nivel nacional. La gira incluye presentaciones en Guanajuato, Chihuahua, Guerrero, Jalisco, estado de México; además de conciertos en el Festival Hue de Vietnam y en el Festival de la Música en París.

Acompañado de sus músicos, el guitarrista entregó una selección de sus éxitos contenidos en sus discos Antología y Paco Rentería en concierto; entre ellos algunos temas como Malagueña, Piel de Mujer y Vívelo; que los asistentes acompañaron con las palmas y uno que otro grito espontáneo. Ya con el público en la bolsa, Paco Rentería respondió con otra dosis de energía y buena música, para después dejar un momento el escenario y regresar ante los gritos de insistencia del público.

Al terminar el apoteósico concierto, aún con la adrenalina del show, Paco Rentería se dio tiempo para charlar con La Jornada Morelos acerca de sus próximos proyectos y del nuevo disco, titulado Talismán, que saldrá a la venta en dos meses.

“La verdad es que apenas estamos iniciando esta gira; esta noche fue una patada de la buena suerte para este 2010 y 2011; y seguramente vamos a volver, vamos a hacer entre diciembre de este año o enero del próximo otro concierto en Cuernavaca para presentar el disco Talismán, que tiene varias piezas en las que toco guitarra eléctrica”, dijo en los camerinos.

Sin ocultar su entusiasmo por la emotiva respuesta del público, que aplaudió de pie al final con la pieza El mariachi y que forma parte del filme con el mismo nombre; Rentería habló sobre esa interrelación que logra con la gente en cada una de sus presentaciones.

“Encantado con la gente. Todo mundo aplaudiendo y se armó la bohemia”, dijo visiblemente emocionado. “De eso se trata; de romper esa barrera del escenario, porque estamos en un recinto los dos, yo los siento a ellos y ellos me ven a mi. Creo que estar ellos amarrados y yo amarrado cuando somos seres humanos, guardándonos emociones en las bolsas, es una reverenda tontería. Lo mejor es esto que pasó, los seres humanos estamos llenos de emociones y lo más importante es que las soltemos. Imagínate llegar a tu casa deprimido y gritar por dentro, ¡mejor grítalo en el concierto!”.

Lo más importante, agregó; “es cuando prenden la luz y ves público de todas las edades; puede venir la familia completa y todo mundo gritando y gozando. Lo más importante es que dentro del concierto la gente se siente viva, pero no con esa música que luego es para un ratito, sino que puedes escuchar el disco y disfrutarlo por muchos años; de eso se trata”.

En el concierto, comentó antes de concluir la charla, “el público escuchó la salida de la anterior gira, Pasión y fuego, y la entrada de Talismán; por eso es que me quedo con la impotencia un poco de presentar lo que van a escuchar en los próximos teatros, que son seis o siete piezas del nuevo disco, entre ellas Talismán, Sevilla nights, Entre sábanas, Méxican fandango y otras canciones nuevas. Las quería tocar pero necesitábamos un poco de producción; lo que presentamos esta noche fueron temas de Antología y Paco Rentería en concierto.

Continúan los eventos por la Edición 52 de la Feria del Libro y del Festival de la Cultura

Dentro del segundo día de actividades de la edición 52 de la Feria del Libro, Festival Cultural Universitario de la Universidad de Guanajuato (UG), se presentó Paco Rentería, el pasado martes en el Teatro Principal, embriagando a los cientos de asistentes con la música emanada de los seis músicos sobre el escenario.

En punto de las ocho de la noche en el espacio cultural, se apagaron las luces y comenzó el recorrido musical dividido en dos partes, el primero por varias canciones emblemáticas y conocidas por los presentes; y en el segundo, canciones de la autoría del exponente.

COMPOSITOR, INTÉRPRETE Y ARREGLISTA

Paco Rentería incursionó en la música con tan sólo siete años de edad, y tiene más de 20 años en los escenarios, realizando sus estudios musicales en el conservatorio de Música de Guadalajara.

En la actualidad, sus conciertos y recitales son bien vistos por la crítica especializada y aplaudidos por todos los públicos en cada una de sus presentaciones. Interpretaciones como Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Asturias, Aranjuez, El Fuego Fatuo, entre muchas otras le dieron un lugar y un status ya desde entonces entre los guitarristas de este género. Paco Rentería es compositor, intérprete y arreglista de toda su obra musical, además de que incursiono en el rock y el jazz influenciado por grupos como Zeppelin, Beatles, Queen, Chick Corea, entre muchos otros.

Temas emblemáticos de producciones cinematográficas como "El bueno, el malo y el feo", "El avispón verde", "La pantera rosa", y canciones emblemáticas de temporadas pasadas, como "Stairway to heaven" de Led Zeppelin, "La negra Tomasa" de los Caifanes, además de la mexicanísima "El mariachi loco".

Después del free play, comenzaron las entonaciones de la autoría del exponente Paco Rentería, que al lado de los músicos, dieron nuevas versiones de las canciones ya emblemáticas y conocidas del autor.

"Piel de mujer" y "Vívelo", fueron las canciones más coreadas por el respetable, aunque se interpretaron canciones de sus seis grabaciones en estudio, realizándose un recorrido que arrancó los aplausos de los cientos de asistentes que se dieran cita.

Juan Carlos Lerenzana en la flauta transversal, Roberto Quintero en las percusiones, Luis Quintero en la guitarra rítmica, Jorge Bernal en el bajo y Benjamín Santillán en la trompeta, acompañando al canta – autor, demostraron la calidad de músicos que son, y por cerca de dos horas, el Teatro Principal se llenó de magia por las cuerdas de Paco Rentería.

Conquista Paco Rentería a guanajuatenses CINTHIA ROSILES BEJARANO NOTA PUBLICADA: 3/25/2010 Paco Rentería conquistó a los guanajuatenses y sus visitantes en el recital que ofreció en el Teatro Principal con motivo de la 52 Feria del Libro y Festival Cultural Universitario.
La primera parte, él y sus músicos regalaron al público una selección de melodías conocidas que hicieron aún más ameno el concierto. “El Avispón Verde”, “La Pantera Rosa”, el tema de “Misión Imposible”, “El Bueno, el malo y el feo”, el tema de la serie de “Los Simpson”, “La Negra Tomasa” de Caifanes, “Stairway to heaven” de Led Zeppelin, “Crazy little thing call love” de Queen y “El Mariachi loco”, entre otras, fueron parte de lo que Rentería llama el freeplay. .Freeplay es dejarte llevar por los sonidos del mundo, por los ritmos de la sangre, de la vida, de lo desconocido, donde el único límite es la imaginación. Freeplay es la improvisación, porque en la vida no hay un manual para saber lo que tenemos que enfrentar, sólo vamos haciendo el pasar de los días, mediante la improvisación de nuestros hechos y de nuestros sentimientos”, anota el guitarrista en su Talismán, World Tour 2010. La segunda parte estuvo cargada de emoción y de la participación del público que con las palmas y alguno que otro grito dejaban saber al artista su gusto por temas como “Piel de mujer”, “El ritmo de la sangre y “Gipsy Rock”. Paco Rentería regaló la maestría a los invitados a la velada al tocar “La Malagueña” de Ernesto Leucona y el tema de la película El Mariachi “Desesperados”, tanto al inicio como al final del recital. Para cerrar, los músicos se despidieron del escenario no sin antes agradecer a la Universidad de Guanajuato y al público que se entregó durante las casi dos horas del concierto. Rentería recibió el aplauso y un ramo de rosas por parte de una de sus fans antes de dejar el recinto del Teatro.
