Grammy-nominated Mexican guitarist Paco Rentería will perform at the Hue Festival and a solo concert in Hanoi this month.

Rentería will join a line-up of artists from 31 countries at the biennial festival to be held from June 5 to 13 in the former imperial city.He will then perform in Hanoi on June 14.Rentería, who started playing the guitar at seven, is known for his unique music style which blends gypsy flamenco, Afrikaans, and oriental and progressive jazz sounds and rhythms.In 2002 he was nominated for a Grammy Latino in the New Age genre for his album “Oceano.”Rentería has created more than 300 compositions, some of which have been used as soundtracks for Hollywood films like the “Desperado” and “The Legend of Zorro.”He has performed with influential artists like rock guitarist Carlos Santana and the late opera singer Luciano Pavarotti. In February Mexican President Felipe Calderon made Rentería an “Ambassador of Mexican Music” to lead the country’s cultural events this year to mark the 200th anniversary of Mexico's independence and the 100th anniversary of the Mexican
